On September 26, 1932, an angel was sent down to celebrate the birth of a child. Albert Minor was born in Lafayette, LA to Oscar Minor, Sr. and Ella Benjamin. He attended public school in Lafayette, LA. In May 1950, he met and married his devoted wife of 53 years Thelma Chevalier. To this union, 13 children were born. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a resident of Lake Charles, LA. On Friday, October 17, 2003, after seventy-one years, God called him home to rest. He was a well known resident of Lake Charles and a retired brick masonry for many years upon his retirement. He was a dedicated foster grand­parent at Ralph Wilson Elementary School. Albert Minor was also an active member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a wife, Thelma Minor; his children, Beverly (Brazle) Evans, Tammy Minor, Dannie Rankins, Pamela (David) Vital, Laura (Solomon) Denson, Janet Minor, all resident of Lake Charles; Jessica (John) Denson, resident of Beaumont, TX; Alfred Minor, Albert (Jimboy) Minor, Jr., Robert (Brenda Faye) Minor, Craig (Alice) Minor, Mark Minor, Jason Minor, all residents of Lake Charles; three sisters, Mable Davis, Cecelia Perrie of Lafayette, LA, Effie Marie Minor-James of New Iberia, LA; three brothers, Oscar Minor, Jr. of Lafayette, LA, Aaron Minor, Jerry Minor of New Iberia; stepmother, Leanna Minor of New Iberia. He also leaves behind 30 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
