Alfred Junius Day was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late Furline and Raymond Day. He was a 1966 graduate of W.O. Boston High School and went on to Southern University where he completed three years. He was soon to unite in holy matrimony with Lynn (Nazie) Bellard on July 6, 1968. To this union there were two children born, Amelia Renee Day (September, 1969) and Corey Dwayne Day (October, 1973). Alfred was drafted in 1969 to serve in the United Sates Armed Services, after an untimely injury his departure from the Army resulted in an honorable discharge. He moved to Houston, Texas in October 1969 to reunite with his family until returning home to Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1987, where he would reside until God called him home to eternal resting life. He leaves to cherish his memories; three daughters; Amelia Reneé Day of Houston, TX, Nicole Nikki) Washington of Houston, TX, Khadijiah Tashawnna Cahee of Lake Charles LA; one son; Corey Dwayne (Sommer) Day of Houston, TX, two sisters; Merian Day of Houston, TX and Brenda Johnson of Addison, LA, one brother ;Alvin Charles (Linda) of Baltimore, MD, one uncle Jerry Charles of Lake Charles, LA, two aunts; Eva Welcome of Lake Charles, LA and Selena Hines of Frieson, LA, two grandchildren; Kayla Denay Williams of Houston, TX and Andrew Michael Day of Dallas, TX and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; Furline Charles Day, his father; Raymond Day, one brother; Norman (Lightening) Charles and an uncle; Jessie Charles.
