Alice J. Barnes , 77, departed this life on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at her residence in Lake Charles, La. She was born May 24, 1940, in Whiteville, La., to Ivory Johnson, Sr., and Pearl McElroy Johnson. She worked in hospitality at New Orleans Hilton Riverside Hotel in New Orleans until her retirement. She was a quiet and reserved person who always had a smile. She was a praying grandmother who loved listening to gospel music and cooking for her family.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Marilyn Johnson Williams, Ronald E. Geyen and Delana M. Geyen; her siblings, Floyd Johnson of Las Vegas, NV, Rose (Alton) Guidry, Shirley Jean and Norma Smith all of Lake Charles, La; four grandchildren, Marshawna Holefield, Cory Black, Brian Nash and Dorian Anderson, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivory and Pearl Johnson, one sister, Lois Jones and eight brothers, Arthur, James, Calvin, Willard, Ivory, Harry, Richard and Burnell Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. and funeral service at 12:30 p.m., at King's Funeral Home, Pastor Rodney Geyen, officiating. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
