Alma Barrow Owens departed this life on Sunday, July 6, 2014 in Houston, TX. She was born in Opelousas, La; on May 23, 1927 to the union of Ernest and Edna Barrow. At an early age Alma gave her life to Christ under the leadership of Rev. Winbush in Opelousas, La. After moving to Lake Charles, she became a member of Christian Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W.C. Clark. She was united in Holy Matrimony to William Owens, Sr. for 64 years. To this union eight children were born. She leaves to cherish her memories, one son; William Owens Jr. 3 daughters, Julia Roseway and Edna Ramar both of Houston, TX., Kathy (Michael) Mose of Lake Charles, La., Rosalind Lartson of the Netherlands; 2 sisters; Jesse Mae (Willie) Jackson of Lake Charles, LA., Lou Cameron of Beaumont, TX., and 3 brothers, Ernest Barrow Jr. and Mervin Barrow both of Houston, TX and Alvin Barrow of Opelousas, La.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years William Owens Sr.; 2 daughters; Deborah Lynn Owens and Linda Faye Owens, one son; Curtis Clay Owens all of Lake Charles,La, her parents; Ernest and Edna Barrow of Opelousas, La.; 2 sisters; Geraldine Malveaux and Edna Fontenot both of Opelousas, La., and 2 brothers; Fred and George Roberts of Opelousas, La., and ,2 son-in laws; Hebert Ramar and Thomas Roseway both of Houston, TX.
