Alton Richard, 61, was born on February 8, 1951 in Opelousas, Louisiana to the late Lawrence and Evelina Darjean Richard, where he attended Holy Ghost Catholic Church; the family later moved to Westlake, Louisiana; where he became a faithful member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Then later in life Alton found a Pot of Gold "THE ALL MIGHTY GOD" his life totally changed. He made his Cursillo and attended many retreats. He was an Usher, Eucharist Minister and also a member of Westlake Knights of Columbus Council #5755. He enjoyed helping others and was one of the organizers of the Senior Food Program given once a year at the Managan Carroll Recreational Center in Westlake. He will be missed by many. He departed this life on Friday, October 12, 2012 at his residence in Westlake, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers; Robert, Carlton, Lawrence Jr., Alvin, George, Eugene, and Frank Richard; four sisters; Christine Nelson, Josephine Richard, Bessie Thierry, and Agnes Grace Simon. Survivors are one daughter; Jennifer Richard of Beaumont, TX; one son; Bryan K. Richard of Lake Charles, LA; three brothers; Joseph Richard of Sulphur, LA, John Colbert Richard of Beaumont, TX, and Wilbert Richard, Sr. of Lake Charles, LA; one sister; Drusella R. Semien of Westlake, LA; one grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
