Obituary

On August 28,1961, Andrea Etta Guidry, was the last girl of 14 children born to the late Bennie and Hilda Guidry of Jennings, LA. Being the baby girl she grew up around her older siblings but took more joy growing up raising her nieces and nephews. Andrea attended Jennings High School where she participated in sports like Tennis, Cheerleading, and Softball to name a few. She took into Christianity at an early age, and was baptized at Mount Triumph Baptist Church in Jennings, LA.

Andrea graduated and moved to Lake Charles, LA where she attended McNeese State University.  She then married and had 3 beautiful children Napoleon III, Alana Michelle, and Brittany Leigh. She was a devoted working mother, attending college classes, while being the biggest cheerleader for her son and daughters. After her last child graduated, Andrea continued to spread her love to 13 foster children. Then GOD blessed her with 3 beautiful granddaughters, Brooklyn Paige, Joshlyn Johnni, and Cheyenne Marissa. These 3 little girls became her new breath of life and all she LOVED was being, "Nanna". Plus, she liked the occasional casino trips.

Andrea worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board where she was an aide on the Special Needs Bus with her long-time friend, co-worker, but mostly known as her sister, Mrs. Jackie Alexander. She retired after 28 years. Andrea was also a past member Queen Esther Court #17 of Heroines of Jericho. After moving to Lake Charles, Andrea also joined Reeves Temple C.M.E. Church and was a devoted faithful member until the day of her passing. She loved her church family and friends. She participated in different organizations like the Prayer Choir, Women's Day Committee, Church Anniversary Committee, Benevolent Committee, and she assisted with the children's department.

On August 27, 2022, Andrea transitioned into heaven at her residence. She is preceded in death by her parents Bennie H. Guidry Sr. and Hilda Hall Guidry, brothers Ronald Guidry, Gregory Guidry and sisters Nina Guidry and Lena Guidry Tizeno.

She leaves to cherish her memories and legacy with her children, Napoleon Harmon III of Houston, TX, Alana Michelle Harmon Valyan of Lake Charles, LA, Brittany Leigh Harmon of Lumberton, TX, also her 3 granddaughters, Brooklyn Paige Pierre, Joshlyn Johnni Pierre, and Cheyenne Marissa Valyan. She leaves her brothers Bennie Guidry Jr. and Reginald Guidry (Velta) of Houston, TX, Rickey Guidry (LaShon) of Lake Charles, LA, Allen Guidry of Lafayette, LA, sisters Brenda Guidry Daniels, Gloria Guidry Turner, and Jacqualine Guidry all of Houston, TX, Karen Guidry Jenkins of Orange, TX, and Carla Guidry of Lake Charles, LA. She leaves 3 God Daughters, 13 Foster Children, and many nieces and nephews.
