Obituary

On the 15th day of June 2021, Andrew Gallien, Sr. went on to glory to be with the Lord at the age of 94 in the comfort of his own home.

He was born January 19, 1927 to the late Clementine Bellard Gallien and Jack Gallien in Lawtell, LA. In 1984, he retired from the Alaskan Pipeline Local Labor Union 341 in Anchorage Alaska with over 16 years of service and also, he worked on the oil spill in Valdez, Alaska. Also, he retired from Local Labor Union 207 in Lake Charles after 30 years of service.  After he retired he became an entrepreneur owning his own gas station. He was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for over 70 years. He loved praying the rosary daily and praying for the safety of his children. His favorite hobbies were playing dominoes where he won multiple tournaments and playing cards with friends and relatives. He loved cooking for his family and one of his favorite meals was his better than restaurant seafood gumbo.

He leaves to mourn two sons Andrew Gallien, Jr (Bettye) of Iowa, LA, Anthony Gallien (Rhonda) of Baton Rouge, LA and four daughters JoAnn Joseph (Rufus), Glenda Froe (Charles) both of Lake Charles, LA, Janell Darbonne (Oliver) of Anchorage, Alaska and Cynthia Hickman (Donald) of Richmond, VA. one sister Julia Gallien Lavergne (Morris) of Lawtell, LA and 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his late parents Jack and Clementine Gallien, his wife of 60 years Rosa James Gallien, two daughters Bettye Ann and Mary Margaret, one grandson Javon, four brothers Simon, Simeon, Jack, Sidney and four sisters Mary Aaron, Edna Garrick, Odelia Guillory and Wilda Brown.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 26, 2021 at King's Funeral from 9:00am to 10:30am, a rosary will be prayed at 10:00am with funeral service following at 11:00am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church under the direction of Pastor Wayne Lebleu. He will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
