On August 23, 2020, God dispatched his angels to welcome home Angline Bartie. She was born on February 12, 1931 to the late John and Irene West in Grand Chenier, La.
ALWAYS DEVOTED TO THE LOVE AND UNITY OF FAMILY, ANGLINE LEFT SCHOOL TO HELP HER PARENTS AND SUPPORT HER FAMILY. In 1950, she married her husband, OF 42 YEARS, THE LATE Robert Bartie, Sr.,and to this union, 10 children were born. In 1957, Angline migrated to Lake Charles where she knew she needed to provide for her family. She worked at the Oak Grove hunting camp as well as St. Patrick's hospital, from which she later retired.
KNOWING SHE NEEDED A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, SHE JOINED THE GREATER FREEMAN CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST AND LATER BECAME THE MOTHER OF THE CHURCH. ANGLINE LOVED TO SPEND HER TIME WITH HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS AS WELL AS HER CHURCH. SHE TRULY LIVED HER LIFE TO THE FULLEST
SHE LEAVES TO CHERISH HER PRECIOUS MEMORIES, EIGHT CILDREN, GEORGIANA ROSS (JOSEPH), CALLERIN JACK, EDITH RICHMOND (GLENN), LILLIAN REDMOND, JOHN BARTIE (Vera), MARY HAGGAR (LEONARD), ROBERT BARTIE JR., AND ELBERT BARTIE, 36 GRANDKIDS, 45 GREAT GRANDKIDS, Special kids, Donald Bird, Jessie Bell, Daniel Kirt; whom she called her husband, Sis. Pam Arvie, Sis. Maxine McGregor, Alfred Grice; two sisters, Genevie Prater and Dorothy West; one brother, Willie West; two brothers in law, Cliff Bargeman and Tellis (Marie) Bartie; two sisters in law; Everlina Bartie and Hazel West and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sr.; one son, Herbert Bartie, her parents, three brothers, Charles, Joseph, and Clarence West; three sisters, May West, Roberta Deed and Irma Bargeman along with other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., and funeral service at 2:00 p.m., at King's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Orange Grove Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
