Obituary

On January 8, 2023, Anthony Joseph LaVergne, "Bo" as he was known by many, passed away peacefully in his home with family members surrounding him.

Bo was born November 26, 1961, to the late Honary LaVergne and Mary Papillion LaVergne in Eunice, LA.  He lived his early and teen life in the towns of Mamou and Basile, LA.  As a young man, he moved to California to live with his oldest brother, Louis LaVergne.  He lived there 20 years working as a security guard and other jobs before moving back to Basile, LA.

In 2007, Bo met Georgia Young and her two boys.  On May 8, 2008, they became a family and began building happy memories together for 14 years.  Bo liked to do home projects, take road trips to different states, fishing with his buddy, Kerry and being a shuttle driver for a local hotel.  The one thing that gave him the greatest joy was being "Paw Paw".  He loved taking the grandchildren to rodeos, circus, feeding the ducks at the Civic Center, helping them ride their four wheelers and bicycles and bringing them back home to Basile to visit family made him a proud Paw Paw.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Georgia Young LaVergne; sons, Aarik Young, Sr. (Ashlee), and Daron Young; one brother, Louis LaVergne of Tracy, CA; three sisters, Earline (Ertis) Hampton of Houston, TX, Charlene (Melvin) Moreau of Lake Charles, LA, and McLedia (Michael) of Basile, LA; six grandchildren, Aamiya, Aalayia, Aamory, Aarik, Jr., Ashton and Aarika; Godchild, Alayna LaVergne, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Douglas, Andrew, Albert and John; two sisters, Louise and Theresa and his Godmother, Theresa Ledet.
