Anthony James "Jim" Pitre, 91, of Lake Charles, La, passed away on March 21, 2023 peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones.

Jim was born on January 4, 1932 to Houston Simson and Dolisk Pitre in Ville Platte, La. After he completed school he went on to study Carpentry and become a Master Carpenter.

After completing his Carpentry studies he started building houses all over Lake Charles and also built a home for his wife and children.

Jim met Hilda Vallier and they soon married. Jim and Hilda went on to have 6 children, Diane Pitre Alexander, Theresa Walker, Anthony Pitre, Jr., Janie Pitre Joseph, Judy Pitre Jackson, & Nancy Pitre Jefferson.

After working for more than 50 years, Jim retired and spent his time with family, his beloved dogs, and working on special projects.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, son Anthony, wife Hilda, Grandson Ronald Neal Joseph Jr, brother Calvin Pitre & sister Juanita Pitre. He is survived by his daughters, siblings Charleta Pitre, Calton Pitre, Paulette, John, Joann Lafleur, Hubert Collins, Melissa "Lisa" Newcost, and a host of granchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and his beloved dog GrunchyBoy.
