Austin Ardoin , 84, departed this life on Sunday, May 10, 2020, at a local nursing home in Lake Charles, LA. He was born May 11, 1935, to Houston Ardoin and Gladys Frank in Duralde, LA. He worked as a rice farmer earlier in his life in Fenton, LA, then became employed with Boise Southern and finally retiring as a Paint and Body Specialist. In retirement, he also worked for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Department.

He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, Phyllis Freeman (Samuel), and Tracy Ardoin both of Lake Charles, LA; one son, Gregory Ardoin (Chiquita) of Houston, TX; one brother, Rodney (Roberta) Frank of Westlake, LA; two sisters, Mary Jane Broussard of Jennings, LA and Verlis Fontenot of Oberlin, LA; a longtime companion, Barbara Carter of DeQuincy, LA; four stepdaughters, Natashia Benoit, Gracie Fontenot, Catrina Ford and Carrie Carter; 16 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston Ardoin and Gladys Frank and two sisters, Joyce Senegal and Rose Ardoin.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 12:00 p.m., and Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at King's Funeral Home, Deacon Elray Bushnell officiating. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
