Betty Jean Nelson , 60, departed this life on Friday, April 6, 2018, at her residence in Lake Charles, La. She was born on May 2, 1957, to the late James and Alice Nelson.

She leaves to mourn four sons, Patrick Nelson, Marcus Nelson, Trandy Nelson and Kenneth Nelson; eight sisters, Elizabeth Cole, Cheryl Booker, Sandra Nelson, Marie Landry, Brenda Nelson, Patricia Nelson, Victoria Nelson and Mary Nelson; six brothers, James Nelson, Antonio Nelson, Steven Nelson, Micheal Nelson, Sam Citizen and Jimmy Chachere; 15 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded death by her parents, James and Alice Nelson; one sister, Sharon Nelson and one son, Kenneth Nelson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home, Pastor Kevin Ames, officiating. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery in Westlake, La., under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
