Betty Rose Stevens, 84, departed this life on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA.  She was born August 9, 1939, to Zack and Leona Richard in Opelousas, LA.  She worked at C.A.R.C. for 15 years until her retirement.  She accepted Jesus as her Savior at an early age and was an active member of St. Henry Catholic Church for 40 plus years.  She loved cooking, baking and spending time with family.  She enjoyed watching basketball and football games.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Angelia (Phillman) Bellow and Melissa Stevens Malvo both of Lake Charles, LA, Toinetta (Marshall) Price of Round Rock, TX and Shawn (Damon) Jones of Georgetown, TX; her siblings, Zack (Barbara) Richard of Lake Charles, LA, Albert (Hilda) Richard and Charles (Edith) Richard both of Opelousas, Shirley (Dwain) Smith of Houston, TX and Rose (Marion) Greene of Lake Charles, LA; eight grandchildren, PJ, Lance, (Jordin), Alexis, Tamara, Shaylon, Shaylee, Davin and Serenity; two great grandchildren, Malik and LJ and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Wilken Stevens; her parents, Zack and  Leona Richard and four sisters, Margaret Malone, Delores Jenkins, Julia Bertrand and Maudry Alfred and one great grandson, Lennox Bellow.
