Brenda Fontenot Steve , 57, was born to the late Mr. Elijus and Mrs. Loukie (Virginia) Fontenot on April 7, 1960, in Lafayette, LA. She departed this life surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, October 15, 2017. She was a resident of Lake Charles, LA, and a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Lakenia (Thomas) Donald Jr. of Lake Charles, LA.; two sons, Joshua (Tahashee) Fontenot of Beaumont, TX; and Travis Steve of Houston, TX; four stepsons, Sederick Steve, Sr., Roy Steve Jr., Ron Steve of Fort Worth, TX, and Lucas Thomas of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Catherine (Edward) Holmes of Sulphur, LA and Linda (Michael) Abele of Lake Charles, LA; three brothers, Michael Fontenot of Mossville, LA, Ronald (Yolanda) Fontenot and Jeffery (Andreaus) Fontenot of Houston, TX; three sisters-in-law, Trueheart Taylor; Georgia Steve of Vinton, LA, and Patricia Fontenot of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Isaiah Donald, Kynadi Fontenot, Sydnee Donald, Jaylin Fontenot and Sederick Steve Jr., one great grandchild, Madeline Steve and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Roy J. Steve Sr.; one brother, Larry Fontenot, and one grandchild, Josiah Fontenot.

Visitation will be held Saturday October 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at King's Funeral Home and funeral serviced at 1:00 p.m., at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
