Brent Lane King was born on April 4, 1970, in Lake Charles, LA, to the late Raymond "Tee" King and Pearl Thierry King.
He was baptized early at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Lake Charles, LA, where he was a member until his passing.
While living in Grand Prairie, TX, at the home of his sister, Robin, and brother-in-law, Earl, and surrounded by other loving family members, the angels carried Brent to his heavenly home on the morning of April 8, 2025.
Brent, known to many as "Heavy," graduated from LaGrange High School in Lake Charles, LA, in 1988.
Brent worked at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office from 1985 to 1995. He also worked as a supervisor at 4AAAA Quality Movers, manager at Festival City Club in Lake Charles, manager of Mitchum and Williams Tender Hearts Group (Grand Prairie, Texas), and owned Club 337. He was also a member of the Krewe Extraordinaire Mardi Gras Krewe, where he served as Vice President for two years.
Some of his hobbies included playing poker and dominoes, watching sports, traveling, and hanging out with his classmates and buddies. He especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. Brent was a caregiver to anyone in need of medical assistance. He was an avid sports fan of the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Football team. Most of all, Brent loved his sisters and brothers.
Brent's life and legacy will live on in the lives of his children: Jordan Whitley, Taylor Bowie, Tristan Carrier, and Kennedi Lane King. Brent's sisters, Robin (Earl) King Williams of Grand Prairie, TX, and Julie (Michael) King Deville of Lake Charles, LA, also cherish Brent's memories. His brothers, Charles (Connie) King of Lake Charles, LA, and Sean (Talaya) King of Midlothian, TX. His grandchildren Paisley Whitley and River Whitley, as well as Grayson and Neveah Carrier. Goddaughters, Ashley Allen and Kelli Roberston, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends,
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond "T-Boy" King and Pearl Thierry King; his paternal grandparents, Samuel and Julia King, and maternal grandparents, Octave and Celestine Thierry.
Brent was a loving person who was always willing to help anyone. He was known to all the kids as "Uncle Brent".
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at King's Funeral Home and funeral service at 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Mausoleum under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
