IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn
Latour
April 25, 1957 – May 4, 2023
On Thursday May 4, 2023, Carolyn Pappion LaTour departed this life at the age of 66, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
She was born on April 25, 1957 to Bertha Goodly Pappion and the late Wilbert Pappion, Sr.
She began working at a very young age and was passionate about any endeavor she engaged in. She took pride in her work ethics where she would often take on multiple jobs at once. She worked in the banking, retail, and restaurant industries. She also worked in casinos and gaming for over twenty years in which she spent thirteen years at L'Auberge Casino until her retirement in 2019.
Carolyn loved working with her hands which enabled her to display her creativity and many talents. She was an incredible seamstress who did everything from hemming and stitching to sewing entire wedding dresses from scratch. Designing wreaths for various occasions, painting, cross stitching, and dabbling into pottery were just a few of her passions. The thing she absolutely loved the most was being in the kitchen. Preparing a meal and sharing food with others was how she showed her love. She could cater a meal for a crowd of hundreds of people or prepare dinner for a few family members. She had quite a library of cookbooks as well. She loved cooking recipes from different regions of the world and experimenting with different ingredients. She was also a gifted baker who could bake and decorate a cake or dessert for any occasion. She will be dearly missed.
She leaves to mourn her beloved son, Brinton "Dane" LaTour and his wife, Dana Bernard LaTour, one grandson, Brinton Dennis LaTour, her mother, Bertha Goodly Pappion, two sisters, Shirley Simien of Lake Charles, LA, and Glenda Jones and her husband, Norman of Carencro, LA, three brothers, Wilbert Pappion Jr. and his wife, Jackie of Harvey, LA, Ray Pappion of Tampa, FL, and Berchman Pappion of Lake Charles, LA. She also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
