Obituary

The beautiful Catherine Batiste was born June 27, 1962, to the late Joseph and Regina Batiste in Chataignier, LA. At a young age, Catherine was a bold and outspoken person with a great personality. She was one of ten children where she was raised to be strong.

She moved to Lake Charles to pursue a better life. She was a phenomenal mother that worked hard to provide for her family. She lived a life of laughter and fun. She was employed at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA, where she worked as a custodian for over twenty-five years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart Catholic Church. She was the life of the party. She taught her children the value of family and living life to the fullest. Her legacy as a loving sister will forever live on through her family. Catherine never met a stranger. No one has ever done wrong in her eyes. Catherine's lifestyle had an impact on everyone she crossed paths with. Everyone who knew her also knew she loved being with her family, listening and dancing to music. She will always be remembered as an extra ordinary, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

God called Catherine Batiste, 55, home to rest on September 29, 2017, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles. She will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Regina Batiste; one son Anthony Batiste; three sisters, Ella Batiste-Bellard, Helen Alfred, and Ethel-Mae Batiste-Denton; two brothers, Larry Batiste and Leroy Robinson.
