Celeste Monroe Simien , 83, departed this life on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at her residence in Lake Charles, La. She was born on July 20, 1934, to the late Joseph Irvin Monroe and Loren Aplon Monroe in Rayne, La. She was a retired cook, housewife and a great mother.

She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Diana (James) Withers, Linda (Napoleon) Harmon, Jr., and Judy Simien all of Lake Charles, La: one son, Allen (Yessenia) Simien of Houston, TX; one sister, Mary (Rev. Harvey) Jackson of Clarksville, TN; two brothers, Leo Monroe, Sr., of Beaumont, TX and Ernest Monroe of Clarksville, TN; 12 grandchildren, Chandra, Branden, Kayla, Nathaniel, Alexis, Christine, Allise, Albert, Edward, Napoleon, Alana and Brittnay; 14 great grandchildren, Arrianna, Amose, Ciarya, Elisha, Derrious, Eryanna, Ayden, Khiry, Jeremiah, Zadok, Edward, Cheyene, Brooklynn, and Joshlynn and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Loren Monroe; her husband, Eulia Simien; four sisters, Celestine Tyler, Willie Mae Tyler, Effie Savoy and Lorena Malveaux; three brothers, James Monroe, Leonce Monroe, Sr., and Ivory Monroe and one granddaughter, Jasmine Simien

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 8:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and funeral service at 12:00 noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Father Richard Uche, officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
