On Tuesday, January 10, 2017, Charles McMahon, Sr., departed this life at the age of 74 in Allen Parish Hospital, Kinder, LA. He was born on April 19, 1942, to the late Rev. Albert McMahon, Sr. and Louella Bradley McMahon in Kinder, LA.

He worked as a logger for over 45 years, co-owning his own company, McMahon Logging, 25 of those years.

He leaves to mourn his children, Liz (John) Willis of Basile, LA, Carolyn (Toney) Locks of Bunkie, LA, Catherine Fontenot, Charles (Meacia), McMahon, Jr., Craig (Eleshia) McMahon, Nathan McMahon, and Roberta McCoy all of Oberlin, LA, and Michael (Ja'Quia) Crittle of McKinney, Texas; two sisters, Maxine Cole of Oberlin, LA and Pearly Mitchell of Lake Charles, LA; two brothers, JC McMahon of Oberlin, LA and William Ardoin of Lake Charles, LA; 16 grandchildren, Kenisha, Lexi, Traci, Spencer, Otis, CJ, Alex, Katie, Keyena, KK, Gabby, Dee, Kamryn, Toni, Phillip, and Dy'Shawn; one great grandchild, Laila and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Albert and Louella McMahon; his wife, Betty Thomas McMahon; four brothers, Clyde, James, John, and Albert McMahon, two sisters, Margie Reeves and Georgia Slate, and an infant son, John Alex McMahon.

A wake service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Gray's Temple COGIC from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Funeral Services, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of the funeral. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
