Charles Leon Thomas, 80, departed this life on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at a local nursing home in Lake Charles, LA. He was born on July 29, 1936, to the late Freddie Thomas and Sophia Jenkins Thomas in Lake Charles, LA. In 1976, he married Myrtis Wilson and to this union four children were born. He worked in beverage sales until his retirement.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Shirley Thomas Eggins; three sons, Eddie L. Thomas (Patricia), Mark A. Thomas (Josephine), and John Landry (Irma) all of Lake Charles, LA; one sister, Edith Woodard; 17 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Sophia Thomas; his wife, Mrytis Thomas; one son, Freddie Thomas; one sister, Betty Louise Hebert and one brother, Alvin Leo Brown.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., and funeral service at 12:45 p.m., at King's Funeral Home with Minister G. W. Davis, officiating. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery in Westlake, LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
