Christol Arnez (CJ) Doucett, Jr . was born on May 16, 1995 to Karen R. Reed and Christol Arnez Doucett, Sr. in Lake Charles, LA. Christol attended T. H. Watkins Elementary School, Oak Park Middle School and LaGrange High School. He also attended the Youth Challenge Program in Baton Rouge, LA where he earned his GED. He was employed by J. W. Nelson Transport Company.
He was baptized in 1999 at Travelers Rest Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Cunningham Bobb. He was currently a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church under the leadership of the current Pastor, Rev. Abbie Monroe, Jr.
Family was everything to Christol. He loved spending time with his son. Christol aka "Torrey Chase" also enjoyed writing his music and he has made quite a few rap videos. He was a very caring, respectful, compassionate and loving child who did what was needed to be done when things were asked of him.
Christol departed this life on Thursday, February 9, 2017, in a selfless act of courage while saving the life of a family member. He will always be remembered as a "Hero" until the end. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Aubrey Kyng Doucett; his mother and father, Karen R. Reed and Christol Arnez Doucett, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, David Dean, Sr. and Shirley Dean of Lake Charles, LA; his paternal grandmother, Joyce Doucett of Lake Charles, LA; sister, Jasmine Trahan (Malcolm) of Bossier City, LA; three brothers, Brandyn Dean, DaQuan Coleman and Morris Coleman; special friend, Allison Ceasar; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence R. Doucett, Sr.; his uncle, Brandon "Bubba" Dean and his godmother, Alice Stevens.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at 8:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Travelers Rest Baptist Church, Rev. Abbie Monroe, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
