Clarence Bertrand, Jr. 71, was born on March 4, 1945, to the late Clarence Bertrand, Sr., and Rose Lee Celestine in Opelousas, LA.  He was called home on Thursday, September 15, 2016, surrounded by his family.

Clarence was a member of Mill Street Church of Christ and worked for the city of Lake Charles for many years.  He was known for his passion for people and making everyone laugh who crossed his path.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his stepmother, Adeline Francis; two brothers, Albert Delafosse and Charles Delafosse; three sisters, Barbara Ann Arceneaux, Mary Ann Bertrand and Betty (Robert) Francis, who cared for him until the end; six sons, Herbert Mills and Jessie Mills of Houston, TX, Dale Bertrand, Dwayne Mills, Ronald Mills, Reggie (Relina) Mills, all of Lake Charles, LA; one daughter, Janice Mills; the mother of his children, Joan Mills; his grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Bertrand, Sr., and Rose Lee Celestine and his godchild, Herbert August.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home Chapel, 1611 Gerstner Memorial Drive, Lake Charles, LA.
