Cleodis Brooks, Jr., was born April 23, 1962, to the the Late Cleodis Brooks and the Late Pattie Joe Bailey Brooks.  Cleodis Jr. attended elementary in Lake Charles, middle and graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in Houston, TX.

He returned to Lake Charles, LA later to help care for his Dad, worked various jobs until starting his own business, Junior's Lawn and Bush Hogging until his health began to fail. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and was affectionately know as "Boss Hogg". He was a member of the Golden Eagles and various motorcycle clubs. He enjoyed cooking with and for family and friends to celebrate various occasions. He was a member of the American Legion (son of) Legionaries  Post #551.

On April 30, 2020 Cleodis Brooks departed this life for external peace. He leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters, Andria Nicole Clay and Maudesha Brooks; two sons, Cedrick Brooks and Avery DJ Clay all of Houston, TX; three grandsons, Traveyon Benson, Bryson Brooks and Torrey Cobbs; one granddaughter, Carter Brooks; one sister, Quinella Brooks Gaskin (Donald), two brothers, Quentin Moore (Linda) and Ivory Brooks; two Godchildren, Jazmyne Davis and Deazion Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and a special friend, Jackie Gallow.

He is preceded in the death by his parents, Cleodis Brooks and Pattie Joe Bailey Brooks and one sister, Romell D. Thompson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., at King's Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Columbarium under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
