Corinne Gertrude Dixon was born on February 3, 1931, to the late Doxie (Bill) and Bernice Lavergne in Eunice, LA. She graduated in 1949 from St. Matilda in Eunice, LA and later moved to Lake Charles with her late husband Melvin Dixon, Sr. in the late 1950's.   Corinne was a long time member of Saint Henry Catholic Church. She departed on Saturday, July 4, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospital, The Woodlands, Texas.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Emily Rose (Isaac, Sr.) Goins and Nola Jane Guillory of Lake Charles; two sons, Melvin Joseph (Brenda) Dixon Jr. of Spring, TX and Karl J. Dixon of Lake Charles; one sister, Elonia Johnson of Port Arthur, TX; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; all of whom Mother Corinne loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Melvin Dixon Sr., of Lake Charles, LA; her brother, Rogers Lavergne of Houston, TX; grandson, Richard Jeremy Guillory, son-in-law, Hilman Guillory, Sr, and great-great grandson, Marquez Thomas Jr, of Lake Charles.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Ceaser Cemetery in Duralde, LA under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
