Obituary

Bro. Curtis Carvin was born September 15, 1961, in Lake aeries, Louisiana, to the parentage of the late Obin Carvin. Sr. and Ledgia Landry Carvin.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. H. Arvie. Bro. Carvin served faithfully on the Usher Board, enjoyed singing in the Male Chorus, Sunday School member, and a member of the Brotherhood under the Pastorship of Rev. Sidney Fontenot. Bro. Curtis was a person that loved to listen to his gospel music, being with his family and friends and enjoying life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He devoted, with great pride, ten years of employment to the Department of Transportation.

Bro. Curtis Carvin was called from labor to his reward and departed this life on Monday, August 14, 2006 at a local Care Center.

Bro. Carvin was preceded in death by his father, Obin Carvin, Sr.

He leaves to cherish many wonderful memories, his loving mother, Mrs. Ledgia Landry Carvin of Lake Charles, La; one daughter, Latasha Carvin; grandaughter, Shamira Carvin both of Lake Charles, La; five (5) sisters, Joyce Carvin (George) Davis of Dallas, Texas, Azella Carvin Bennett of Port Barre, La, Lisa Carvin (Lorce) Rigmaiden, Terry Carvin Claridy and Sherrin Carvin all of Lake Charles, La; two (2) brothers, Obin Carvin. Jr and Erely (Jackie) Carvin of Lake Charles, La; one adopted brother, Roderick Francis of Phoenix, Az; one godchild, Sadonna Edwards of Lake Charles, La and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
