Daniel Richard departed this life on Monday, April 2, 2018, at his residence. He was born on December 26, 1971, in Sulphur, La. to Cecilia Jacks Richard and the late Joseph Richard.
Daniel was raised in Mossville, La. He was a member of Saint John Bosco Catholic Church. He was a 1990 graduate of Sulphur High School, where he played Football. Years later, he was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Ophelia Danielle Richard, whom he cherish dearly. He moved to Lake Charles, La., and attended St. Henry Catholic Church where he served as an Usher. He worked at several construction sites and worked as an aviation mechanic at Northrop Grumman. In his spare time, Daniel enjoyed working outdoors and making beautiful crosses, crucifixes, and smokers out of wood. He also enjoyed landscaping and recently began his own lawncare business under the name of "Dan the Grass Man".
He leaves to cherish his mother, Cecilia Jacks Richard; daughter, Ophelia Danielle Richard; five sisters, Debra Richard, Angela (Melvin) Ward, Melissa Richard (Robert) McCraney, Mary (Michael) Fradieu, Collette Richard (Patrick) Celestine all of Lake Charles, La; two brothers, Joseph "Chip" Richard of Moss Bluff, La. and Gerard Richard of Sulphur, La; two Godchildren, Brittany Verdine and Treyauna Pouchie and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunties, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Richard; sister, Deidre Richard; nephew, Germany Richard; grandparents, Lawrence and Evelina Darjean Richard and Robert and Evelyn Gallien Jacks.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 8:00 a.m., a Rosary at 9:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at St. Henry's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Westlake Memorial Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
