Darby Anthony Harris, 65, gained his wings on January 7, 2025, at 7:00 a.m., surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.  He was born on October 6, 1959, in Lake Charles, LA to the late Lawrence Harris and Margie Bellard Harris.

At a young age, Darby joined Immaculate Heart Catholic Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, Godfather and uncle. He joined the United States Army and was a military technician that was responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of military vehicles, equipment, and machinery. After serving our country for five years he retired.

He loved to spend time with his wife, children, grandchildren, family, going fishing, listening to old school music, cooking, and working on cars. He was a well-known mechanic in Lake Charles, LA. He met the love of his life, Elizabeth Augustine, after working on her car. Darby and Elizabeth married on February 11, 2007, and had three children.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Elizabeth Harris of seventeen years; two sons, Jeremy (Devin) Augustine of Humble, TX and Jacory Augustine of Lake Charles, LA; one daughter, Chastity Augustine of Lake Charles, LA; three grandchildren, McKenzie Augustine, Jeremy Augustine Jr., and  Jexon Augustine; two sisters, Pam (RJ) Guillory of Lake Charles, LA and Lorraine Brown of Lake Charles, LA; only living uncle, Joseph Hilton Bellard of Lake Charles, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Darby was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Harris and Margie Bellard Harris and his grandson, Jayceon Augustine.

Funeral Services for Darby will be held on Thursday, January 23 at 11am following the Visitation beginning at 9am, both in King's Funeral Home Chapel. Military Honors will be on Monday, January 27 at 10:00am at SWLA Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA.
