Darian Denise "DeeDee" Watts, 65, departed this life on Friday, December 29, 2023, in Lake Charles, LA.  She was born June 26, 1958, to Freddie Watts and Sandra Hall in Gary, Indiana.  She worked for Calcasieu Parish School Board as a school bus driver in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Darian is a 1975 Horace Mann High School Graduate. She also completed several secretarial certification courses at Indiana University Northwest. She is preceded in death by her parents Freddie Watts and Sandra Scott; younger brother, Kevin Scott; and stepfather, James Scott.

DeeDee leaves cherish her memories two daughters Shawntia McKinney and Asha Tidwell; four sisters, Tawnya Spears, Annisha Scott, Johnye Wright, and Joyclyn (Danny) Mister; one brother, Jamel Scott, seven grandchildren, Avery, Jr., Kevin, and Ah'zsur Ursery; Austin, Uriah, Ava, and Elisha Clayton, one great granddaughter, K'yne Ursery, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

All funeral services will be on Friday January 12, 2024, Wake 9:30a.m. Funeral 11:00a.m. at Powell Coleman Funeral Home 3200 W. 15th Ave., Gary, Indiana. Burial is at Evergreen Cemetery in Hobart, Indiana.
