David McClain Evans, 62, was known to some as "Duck" and others as "Cheesey." He was born November 18, 1960, in Lake Charles, LA to Samuel Evans and Loritha Richard Evans. David was a 1978 graduate of Lake Charles High School. In August of 1978, he joined the United States Air Force whereas he made a career of it serving our country.
After retiring from the air force he opened a cleaning business and continued as a civilian working for the government at Lackland and Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. He made San Antonio his home where his family currently reside. He also received his Theology and Business Degree and became a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Kevin L. Nelson where he served on the usher board in San Antonio, TX. He enjoyed reading, studying his bible, playing cornhole and lots of laughters with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Sherry Evans; one daughter, Traneesha Evans; one son, David Evans Jr; one grandson, Brandon Evans all of San Antonio, TX; one brother, Craig Evans; one sister, Monica Evans both Lake Charles, LA and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Loritha Evans and two brothers, Chris Evans and Freeman Evans.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., and funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
