David Wayne Vital

The Lord has called home a true soldier on June 15, 2022, at the age of 65.  He was born October 24, 1956, to the late Thomas Vital, Sr., and Bobby Ann Banks and was raised by the late George Johnson, Sr.  He worked at McNeese State University as a custodian and grounds keeper until his retirement. He served his country in the United States Army with an honorable discharge.  He loved being around family and friends and enjoyed playing dominoes and spade.  He was always the life of the party.

He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Joshua Wayne Minor of Lake Charles, LA; two daughters, Carmaleta Lockridge of Houston, TX and Stephanie Minor of Lake Charles, LA; stepmom Rosie (Pat) Vital of Lake Charles, one brother, Thomas Vital, Jr., of Houston, TX; seven sisters, Lucy Miller, Thomasina Vital and Mary Johnson all of Houston, TX, Yvonne Glover, Stacie Hebert, Ruth Walker, and Delores Burton all of Lake Charles, LA; 10 grandchildren, Christopher Moreno, Jr., Careen Lockridge, DeAsia Lockridge, Denim Lockridge, Derrick Lockridge and Ray Calbe Lockridge all of Houston, TX, DeMarion Bias, Jeremiah Rankins, Harmony Minor and Jacob Minor all of Lake Charles, LA; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Vital, Sr., Bobby Ann Banks and George Johnson, Sr., and one brother, George Johnson, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Orange Grove Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
