Derek Joseph Lemelle, 50, departed this life on Saturday, February 8, 2020, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. He was born October 28, 1969, to Frederick and Connie McGee Lemelle in Lake Charles, LA.

He worked at Monro Tire Company. He enjoyed fishing, eating all sorts of wild game, entertaining family and friends, listening to jazz music, reading novels, playing Dominoes and X-Box games.  He was a huge San Francisco 49ers fan.  He was sweet, kind and giving and the most humble person you could ever meet.  He joked nearly all the time.  He was always there with open arms for anyone who needed him. He loved to tinker with broken lawn mowers, weed eaters, etc.  He was a real hard and dedicated worker.  He would mow the lawn for his mother in real high gear and was finished in a jiffy.  Upon inspection, the flower beds were covered with dust, grass and pine straw but the grass was cut. That is the way he did things, always in a hurry.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Toloyne Lemelle; his parents, Frederick and Connie Lemelle all of Lake Charles, LA; two children, Janae Armstrong of Baton Rouge, LA and Shannon J. Bourke of Lake Charles, LA; one brother, Kevin A. Lemelle of Carencro, LA and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at 8:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home and Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m., at St. Henry Catholic Church, Rev. Matthew Cormier, officiating.  Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
