Derry Bernard Ray , 50, departed this life on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA.  He was born September 17, 1970, to Glenn Hudson and Juanita Ray in Houston, TX.  He was a cook at L'auberge Casino.  He loved fishing, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Jacqueline Ray of Lake Charles, LA; parents, Glenn Hudson and Juanita Ray; three stepchildren, Natasha Tanner, Belinda Jack and Lawrence Jack; four sisters, Tamekia Ray, LaQuita Ray, Natasha Ray all of Houston, TX and Fantasha Ray; six brothers, Sharron Ray, Durell Ray, Every Ray, Triston Ray, Salenzo Ray and Thurman Ray all of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Leazha Carter, Jailyn Herbert and Tyler Jack; one great grandchild, Aubree Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby Lee Ray, Sr., Thomas and Mary Scott; mother-in-law, Lucille Hearts and two aunts, Kathy Ray and Jinell Ray.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., and funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at King's Funeral Home.
