On Friday, August 13, 2021, Dewey Lewis, Sr., loving husband and father transitioned at the age of 85. He was born November 19, 1935, to the late Lloyd and Marie Hazel Cole Lewis. He retired from the Orleans Parish School Board and the Orleans' Parish Sheriff's Office.

Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Hazel and his brother, Clarence.

He is survived by his wife, Marceline of 63 years; his three sons, Dewey Jr. (Mary) of Lake Charles, Steven (Trecenia) of New Orleans, and Troy Sr. (Lenia) of New Orleans; five grandchildren, Cameron, Troy Jr, Justin Kyle, Blake and Kimberlyn; sisters-in-law, Shirley Guillory (Joseph) of Lake Charles and Theresa Frugie of Beaumont; two aunts, Odelia Joubert of Lake Charles and Minnie Cormier of Lafayette and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren and other relatives and friends that will miss him greatly.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at St. Margaret Church. Visitation will be from 11AM to 1PM, the Rosary will begin at Noon and the Funeral Mass will begin promptly at 1PM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Mausoleum under the direction of King's Funeral Home.  Repast will be held at the Lake Charles Civic Center 900 N. Lakeshore Dr, Lake Charles, LA 70601.
