Sister Diana Arvie Broussard was born in Ville Platte, LA, to the late Clem and Selina Alfred Arvie. She was baptized at an early age at Ninth Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until she moved to Lake Charles, LA.
On Monday, June 27, 2016, in the early afternoon, God sent down His Angel of Eternal Life and our beloved Sister Diana Arvie Broussard received her wings and took flight to rest with her Heavenly Father.
Sister Broussard was united in Holy Matrimony to Felix John Broussard for 41 years. God blessed them with the birth of one son, Channing Jacobi Broussard. Sister Broussard was a long time faithful member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverends Sidney Fontenot, Berkman Adams and current presiding Pastor Braylon Harris. She served God and her church faithfully as a member of the choir, Pastor's Aide Committee, Sunday School, and chairperson of the Pastor's Anniversary Committee and she readily supported all other church activities and programs. She was also a member of "The Order of the Golden Circle" under the leadership of Loyal Lady Ruler Juana Taylor. She graduated from James Stephens High School in Ville Platte, LA, and Delta School of Business in Lake Charles, LA. Sister Broussard was employed with the Calcasieu Parish School Board for 15 years as a Para-Professional and with the Hope Center for 3 years.
Cherishing her memories of a life well lived, filled with love and happiness are her husband of 41 years, Felix Broussard, and the light of her life, her son, Channing Jacobi Broussard; three sisters, Rose Mary Adams, Francis (Morris) Joseph and Bertha (Darrell) Gallien of Lake Charles, LA; Four brothers, Clarence Arvie, Sherry (Drucella) and Eddie (Catherine) Arvie of Lake Charles, LA, Raymond Arvie of Opelousas, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Selina Alfred Arvie; one sister Joyce Arvie; one brother, Herman Arvie and sister-in-law, Rosalie Arvie.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Pastor Braylon Harris officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
