Don Edward Cole was baptized at an early age by the late Bishop O. B. Pete Sr.  He was active in the Sunday School Department as well as the Youth Department.  He graduated from Oberlin High School in May 1979.

On June 1, 1979, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged on May 31, 1983.  Don worked for a Houston Security Contractor for several years followed by Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Correctional Officer. He later attended an Electrician Apprenticeship Program where he received his electrician license.  His final job was working to complete electrical work for Houston Amazon Distribution Warehouse.

On Wednesday morning on October 14th, he was quietly called home.  He was 59 years of age.  He leaves behind to cherish his memories: his brother, Charles R. Cole (Cathy Cole) of Houston Texas and his dear friends Wendell, Gladys, and Francis all of Houston, Texas along with a host of special aunts, uncles, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, and an endless number of special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Maxine Cole, his sister, Beverly Cole and his brothers, Christopher Cole, Lenard Cole, and John Cole.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Progressive COGIC, 712 8 th Street, Oberlin, LA.  Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery on Harmon Road in Kinder, LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
