Donald Ray Landry was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on November 28, 1960, to Wilson and Ellen Landry. He was baptized early in life and became a member of Christian Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. W.C. Clark.
Donald was united in Holy Matrimony to Vanessa Duhon and to this union five children were born, Courtney, Swanisha, Wilson, Donald Jr., and Justin Landry.
Donald was always a hard worker. He began working at an early age for Kelly Weber and later went to work for Home Furniture. He also worked for Lowe's for many years, and later he worked for Southwest Beverage where he ended his career due to illness.
One of Donald's favorite hobbies was using his creativity through carpentry and woodwooking. Another one of Donald's favorite ways to spend time was acquiring new cars for his large miniature car and motorcycle collection. However, the way Donald most enjoyed spending his time was with his family.
Donald Ray Landry, Sr. departed this life on February 8, 2008. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Landry; father, Wilson Landry; and his nephew Bradley Toussand.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Vanessa Duhon Landry; five children, Courtney Landry of Lake Charles; Swanisha Caesar of Houston, Texas, WIlson, Donald, Jr., and Justin Landry, all of Lake Charles; two sisters, Barbara Landry of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Debra (Michael) Celestine of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, two nieces, two nephews, three great nephews,, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
