IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dora Lee
Jones
March 28, 1965 – September 10, 2021
Dora Lee Jones graced the world with her presence on March 28, 1965, to parents, Oscar Clifford Lewis and Dessie Lee Thierry in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She was a devout Christian that dedicated her life to Christ in 1987. She became a licensed and ordained minister in 1995 under the leadership of Apostle Marie Carrier at Eternity Full Gospel Fellowship. Dora was the epitome of what it meant to be selfless. She faithfully gave her first to God and would give her last to anyone that needed it. In 2016, her desire to be of service to others, inspired her to find "Healing Hearts Ministries" along with best friend, Cynthia Morgan. Through "Healing Hearts Ministries" she dedicated her time to support women through trying times in their personal lives in an effort to build sisterhood and ultimately win souls to Christ. When Dora wasn't working in ministry, you could easy find her in Wal-Mart where she worked as a cashier for over 15 years. You could find her by listening for her infectious laughter that could be heard from a mile away! Otherwise, you may not have recognized her because she would change her wig in a heartbeat!
Dora was a devoted wife to her husband of 21 years, John Paul Jones, and a mother to two daughters, Quintessa and Desirae Mayo. She leaves them to cherish her memories along with her father, Oscar Clifford Lewis (Cora); sisters, Jacquetta Yvette Thierry, Becky Gary (Trent), Doris Epps, Gail Lewis, Yolanda Baldwin (Shelton), Theresa Thomas, Latasha Bilbo, Anita Goodly, and Patricia Thomas; brothers, Michael Lewis, Oscar Thomas, Wayne Lewis, Oscar Lewis Jr, and Marshall Lewis; step-daughters, Cassandra Jones, Jasmine Rougeau, and Janelle Jones; grandchildren, Harmony Freeman, Bailey Rae Walker, Marie Summers, Murdock Summers, Kendall McGirt, Serienty Clem, Olivia Jones, and Josiah Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and most importantly her wigs!
She was preceeded in death by her mother, the late Dessie Lee Thierry, brother, Clifford Lewis and sister, Barbara Dunning.
The bible says in Matthew 5:8, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." Dora had a heart as pure as gold, and there is no doubt that she is indeed with God. May she rest in peace in the bosom of the Lord!
