March 24, 1945 – February 2, 2022
On Tuesday February 2, 2022, Edna Caesar entered Heaven the way that she lived her life with courage, dignity and grace. She was born in Crowley, LA to Ivory Joubert and the late Rebecca Hall. She was a devoted wife of 33 years to her late husband Hayward Caesar. She worked at Robinswood for 15 years and finished her career at St. Charles Center in Moss Bluff, LA as a dietician. She was a member of St. John Holiness Church where she served as Missionary and Mother of the church.
She enjoyed spending time in the word, enjoying her family and friends, singing while playing the piano, and watching Sports. She will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her special love that will be forever cherished, her great cooking and most of all her dedication and devotion to God.
She is survived by her children, Russell Simmons Jr., Jeff Simmons, Jane (Walter) Brignac, Marilyn Simmons, Terry (Denise) Simmons and Felicia (Ray) Calligan; her grandchildren, Angel (Charles) Withers, Joey Simmons, Kourtney Chambers, Javonna Drake, Mallery Chambers, Laquilla Charles, Leonard Sorrells Jr, and Terry Simmons Jr., and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Randy Barnett and Ann Miller and her grandson, Marcus Eddie.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., and funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at St. John Holiness Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
