Edward Buck , 66, was born January 26, 1953, to Willie and Elva Buck. The last of six children, he was nurtured and loved by his siblings.

Born visually impaired, Edward attended the LA State School for the Blind in Baton Rouge, LA. There he learned skills which aided in his level of independence. Edward was assertive and self-advocating….to say the least. He did not meet a stranger. That is, if he met you once, he recognized your voice the next time he encountered you.  His memory seemed better than computers, while his body appeared to be somehow connected to the universe.  He could tell the exact time during the day though he had no watch, nor could he see one if he did. Edward's love included listening to KPLC News, chocolate cake and above all a YELLOW NO. 2 PENCIL…and he knew if you tried to give him something different!

Edward was a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. He loved attending church whenever he could. He would come in clapping his hands to the music.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Eillie and Elva Buck and two siblings, L.J. and Verna Bell.

He will truly be missed by his brothers, Willie Buck, Jr. (Bobbie) of Hope, AR, W J Buck of DeQuincy, LA and Curley Buck, Sr. of Lake Charles, LA and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and the Knob Hill Family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, DeQuincy, LA, Rev. James Harris, officiating. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery in DeQuincy, LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
