We thank God for the life, and legacy of Elizabeth (Liz) Williams Gore. A Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, Friend to many and a faithful servant of the Lord. The truth, integrity and beauty of her spirit filled our hearts.
On Wednesday, October 29, 2020, Elizabeth Williams Gore, at the age of 71, peacefully transitioned into the arms of the Lord, while at Lafayette General Hospital. She was surrounded by angels, loving family members and friends.
Elizabeth Williams Gore, 71 was born October 13,1949, in Lake Charles, LA to the union of the late Preston Williams and Miriam Daniels Brown. Elizabeth was baptized at an early age by Rev. W. C. Clark at Christian Baptist Church. She was a faithful and devoted member of Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Arthur Cullivan. As a member, she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member and Mission Sister. Elizabeth Gore will always be remembered for her strength, character, loyalty and sweet smile. She retired from Christus St. Patrick Hospital after 44 years of service. She was a member of Steppers Civic Organization for 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Preston Williams and Mother, Miriam Brown; stepfather, Harold Henry Brown; brothers, John W. Daniels, Robert E. Williams, Preston Williams, and Roy Williams, sisters, Rose Etta Weston and Linda Faye Williams.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Constance Williams (Sheldon) Guy. One granddaughter, Shelby Elizabeth Guy; one sister, Mary Kay Eberhart of Pensacola, Florida; nephews, Jerome Williams and Demetrius Eberhart both of Pensacola, Fl., Jarriett Myrick and Robert Williams both of Lake Charles, LA, and Delbert Hatcher of Birmingham, AL; nieces, Latasha and Keisha Weston both of Lake Charles, LA, Deidre H. Curtis of Savanah, GA; two sisters-in-law, Elouise (Robert) Hatcher of Selma, AL and Kandi (John) Daniels of Homestead, Fl., and an adopted brother, Steve Branch. She had a host of great-nephews and nieces and great-great nephews. Elizabeth will be deeply missed by all who knew of her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020, at 6:30 p.m., at King's Funeral Home.
