Ella Mae Grant Ware , 85, departed this life on Monday, July 3, 2017, at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. She was born on May 16, 1932, to Walter and Eva Collins Grant in Opelousas, LA. She was employed as a foster grandparent for the Big Brother Big Sister Program through Children's Play World and Wonderland of Play. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Evea (Ronald) Ricks and Betty Simon of Lake Charles, LA; three sisters, Cecelia Grant, Helen Carter and Delores Johnson all of Lake Charles, LA and one brother, Edward (Mary) Grant of Sacrameto, CA; eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Ware; her parents, Walter and Eva Great; three sisters, Celestine Handy, Lucille Drayton and Hazel Williams and two brothers, Wallace and Arthur Grant.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., and funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, Pastor Henry Simon, Jr., officiating. Burial will be held in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
