Ellis Lewis, Jr., 62, departed this life on Monday, June 27, 2016, in Lake Charles, LA. He was born March 4, 1954, to the parentage of the late Ellis Lewis, Sr., and Ella Hayes Lewis in Lake Charles, LA. Although Ellis was his birth name, he was known and loved by many as "Jr. Boy", "June", "Moses" and "Kracker". He was baptized at an early age at the Mount Olive Baptist Church by the late Rev. Al White.

Ellis married Gracie Hunt and to this union, three girls were born, Jacquelyn, Yolanda and Veronica.  He raised his daughter, Marcia, and had two other daughters, Stephanie and Brandi.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Gracie Hunt of Houston, TX; his mother, Ella Hayes Lewis of Lake Charles, LA; his daughters, Marcia Hamilton, Jacquelyn Lewis, Yolanda Lewis, Veronica Landry, Brandi Rosamore and Stephanie (Bryon) Cotton;  three sisters, Carol (Michael) Jones, Mary (Rickey) Guillory, of Houston, TX, and Wanda (Eddie) Kennison of Lake Charles, LA; three brothers, Hamma (Bridgett) Hayes, Curley (Rose) Lewis of Houston, TX and Roy (Roslyn) Lewis of Dallas, TX; 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Lewis, Sr.; one brother, Aubrey Lewis and two sisters, Helen Leger and Lena Jackson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at King's Funeral Home, Rev.E. J. Kemper and Pastor Braylon Harris, Officiating.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
