Elroy Fruge Thomas, Sr, 64, was born March 18, 1930 in Iowa, Louisiana to Amos Fruge and Eunice Ceaser, and raised by Eve Thomas. A native of Iowa, Louisiana for forty years, Elroy and his lovely wife Genora of 42 years, moved back to Iowa in 1955 from Kinder, Louisiana.

A farmer all his life, this hard working man who knew only work from sun up to sun down, started at the age of eight. He attended St. Peter Claver Church.

Elroy is survived by his wife, Mrs. Genora Perridon Thomas of Iowa, Louisiana; three sons, Roy Thomas, Jr. of Lufkin, Texas, Hurricane Thomas of Iowa, Louisiana, and Jason Thomas of Lake Charles, Louisiana; ten daughters, Mrs. Judy Jolivette, Mrs. Mary Fruge, Mrs. Virgie LaTour, Ms. Elizabeth Thomas, Ms. Marsha Thomas, and Ms. Earline Thomas, all of Iowa, Louisiana, also Mrs. Shelia Gradney of Welsh, Louisiana, Mrs, Brenda "Sue" Guillory of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Mrs. Katherine Thomas of Marietta Georgia; three sisters, two brothers thwenty-three grandchildren,, and one great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Lynn Anastasie of Oakdale, Louisiana, and Mrs. Helen Thomas of Iowa, Louisiana, as well as three sisters.
