On April 14, 2012, Emily changed addresses. Emily moved from the burdens of this world to a place prepared for her by God. Mrs. Emily Simien DeVille King was born March 15, 1930 to Dora Simon Simien and Previa Simien in Welsh, La. She was a resident of Lake Charles, La and lived there most of her life. Emily was known for her brilliant ability as a seamstress. She could work wonders with a needle scissors and a sewing machine. In her free time, Emily enjoyed family and friends, Zydeco dancing, bowling, playing cards and going to trail rides. Her favorite color was purple. To know Emily was to love her. Her enjoyment of life and beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all who shared a part of her life. Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Previa Simien and Dora Simien, and three brothers, Wilbert, John and Eugene Simien and one stepson Christopher King. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Willie Samuel King Sr., four loving daughters, Catherine (Steven) Gaskin of Denver, CO, Cecilia (John) Jefferson of Lafayette, CO, Brenda (Hildon) Jones of Denver, CO, Barbara Combs of Lake Charles, La and one loving son, Michael (Julie) DeVille of Lake Charles, La. and honorary daughter Ursula Evans of Lake Charles, La. A loving stepdaughter Sheila King Johnson of New Orleans, La, and four loving stepsons Willie (Wanda) King Jr., of Lake Charles, La, Eugene (Raquel) King of Lake Charles, La, Donald King of Lake Charles, La and Larry (Faye) King of Carlyss, La. A loving sister, Zora Lewis of Pomona, CA. Three loving brothers, Wilson (Lenell) Simien, Paul Simien both of Lake Charles, La and Walter Simien of Pomona, CA. Twenty nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
