Evelyn Marie Broussard , 67, departed this life on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Kindred Hospital in Sugar Land, TX.  She was born July 25, 1953, to James Henry DeBlanc and Ruth Wright DeBlanc in Lake Charles, LA.  She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul AME Church of Lake Charles where she participated in the Augustine Shorten Women Missionary Society.  She was a 1971 graduate of Washington High School and attended McNeese State University.

She leaves to mourn her husband, Donald Broussard; children, Erica (Martin) Harmon and Lorenzo Broussard all of Lake Charles, LA; siblings, Barbara Johnson of Austin, TX, Toni DeBlanc-Eaglin of Fulshear, TX, Janice (Gregory) Banks of Houston, TX, Connie Williams of Baytown, TX, and Sylvia (Leroy) Cole of Lake Charles, LA; seven grandchildren, Martin Broussard, Ja'lyn Broussard, Sade' (Justin) Guillory, Anique' Harmon, Imani Broussard, Amayah Broussard, and Xavier Broussard; 1 ^st great grandchild "on the way"; Godchildren, Ashlee (Aston) Hines and Daijah Simmons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruth DeBlanc; one sister, Delores Turner; one niece, Ebony Banks and one grandson, Jy'ren Broussard.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 10:00 a.m., at King's Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
