Ezola "Frutti" Williams, 83 was born March 17, 1941. She met Victor J. Ledet Sr., and together they had three children, Victor J. Ledet Jr., Ryan O. Ledet, and Cynthia D. Ledet. The family later moved to Houston, TX, where they became devoted members of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ.
Ezola had a deep love for children, which led her to work at Today's Child Daycare for several years, serving the community. Inspired by this passion, she established her own home daycare business, which she successfully ran for over 30 years. She also worked for the Greater Houston Center for the Disabled, where she later retired.
Ezola later remarried Sylvester Williams and moved to Lake Charles, LA, where she built a thriving frozen cup business. Her business became a beloved staple in the community, bringing joy to children from various neighborhoods for 15 years. Beyond her work, Ezola enjoyed crocheting, knitting, canning fruits and vegetables, and sewing—her favorite hobby. She was a pillar of her community, touching the lives of many. To this day, she is remembered with love and cherished memories.
Ezola Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Roberta "Laura" Carthon and Harmon Carthon Sr.; her siblings, Harmon Carthon Jr., Lula Mae Smith, and Elouise Broussard; her son, Ryan O. Ledet and her granddaughter, Andrea D. Rodriquez.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Sylvester Williams; her children, Victor Ledet Jr. (Vivian) and Cynthia Chatman (Mark); her stepchildren, Henry, Catrece, Patricia, and Chad; her siblings, Patricia (Henry) Sanders and Felicia (Jerry) Sandifer. Ezola was a proud grandmother to Victor "Jamie" Ledet, Krystal Rodriquez, Ashley Ledet, Marcus Chatman, Kasandra Ledet, Jasmine Chatman, Corey Ledet, Meaghan Ledet, Javon Chatman, and Daejah Chatman. She also leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.
Vistation will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., and funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at Progressive Church Of God In Christ, 712 8th Street, Oberlin, LA. Burial will follow in Botley Cemetery in Kinder, LA, under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
