Obituary

Frank W. Thomas departed this life Sunday, September 7, 2014, in the comfort of his home in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Frank was born April 11, 1921 in Washington, Louisiana to Beatrice Green and Frank W. Thomas. He was raised in Welsh, Louisiana until he began serving duty in the Air Force from September 8, 1942 until December 20, 1945. He served during World War II as a marksman. In 1946, he married Mildred Carrier, and they settled in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Frank W Thomas was a founding member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana where he served as an usher. Frank was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of St. Peter Claver, Lodge #141. Frank was a brick mason for over 50 years. Immaculate Heart of Mary Church was constructed by the hands of Frank and other brick masons in 1950. Frank was a spiritual, charismatic man with a passion for the Lord. He was a devoted family man and an outstanding citizen in the community. He always kept family first.

Those left to cherish his memories are his sisters, Mary (Horace) Hollier of Sun City, California and Alice (Gene) Hardemion of Los Angeles, California; daughters Frankie (David) Sweet of Marietta, Georgia, Maxine (Kenneth) Case of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Janel (Larry) Todd of Atlanta, Georgia, Renee (Walter) Lee of Stone Mountain, Georgia; sons Ted (Stacey) Thomas of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Dexter (April) Thomas of Mandeville, Louisiana; grandchildren Davilyn Tabb of Marietta, Georgia, Damian Sweet of Miami, Florida, Pharaia Mitchell of Atlanta, Georgia, Tiffany Leger of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Elcee DeLaune Thomas of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Jamie' Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, Kennedie and Dominick Thomas of Mandeville, Louisiana; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grand¬daughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice and Lawrence Green, father Frank W Thomas, wife Mildred Thomas, infant daughter Pamela Thomas, son L.C. Thomas, sisters Louise Jones, Leola Miller, and Regina Carrier; and brothers Henry Thomas, Chester Thomas and Lawrence Green.
