Garrick Allen Antonio Neil, Jr., 12, departed this life on Sunday, June 11, 2017, in Oberlin, LA. He was born on September 26, 2004, to Gwendolyn Nixon-Neil and Garrick Neil, Sr., in Jennings, LA. He was a 6 th grade student at Gueydan High School in Gueydan, LA. He played baseball at his school and football and basketball at Gueydan Recretional Center. He loved fishing, hunting and playing his xbox.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his parents, Gwendolyn (Lonnie Schexnider) Nixon-Neil and Garrick Neil, Sr.; siblings, D'Andre Nixon and Garrilyn Neil of Gueydan, LA, Chandler Thompson of Oakdale, LA, Malania Neil, and Sariah Lawrence of Gueydan, LA and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eddie Holland, Sr., and Janice Nixon-Holland; great grandfather, Allen Neil, Sr. and great grandmother, Reba Nixon-Francis and one sibling.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., and funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at True Faith Pentecostal Church in Oberlin, LA, pastor David Wolfe, officiating. Burial will be in Peterson Cemetery under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
