George" Young

George Young, Sr., 85, departed this earthly life to the next on Saturday, December 6, 2025, it a local hospital. He was born on May 6, 1940, to Robert and Hilda Green Young in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and remained a resident of Lake Charles his entire life.
George worked at Firestone Rubber Refinery until his retirement. He was known by his nickname his son gave him, "King George." He enjoyed blessing others by telling stories, making people laugh, and cooking. He also spent time reading and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Hilda Young, a son, George Young, Jr., and his wife, Dorothy Simmons Young. All his siblings also await him in Heaven, Lilly, Rose, Martha, Hilda, Mabel, and Bubba.
George leaves to cherish his memories, his children: Ursula (Michael) Williams, Gerald (Sharon) Young, Donna Young, and Phillip Young; eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
George's life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 20 in King's Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation for family and friends shall begin at 9:00am, with the funeral following at 11:00am. Burial and military honors will take place at Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King's Funeral Home.
