George T. Matthews "Uncle George" died Sept. 11, 2013 at the age of 94. He was born to the late Thophile and Aurelia Matthews on March 2, 1919 in Carencro, La. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. His passions were his garden, fruit trees, and reading his bible. George was preceded in death by his wife, fourteen brothers and sister. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children; Elise Reed (Johnny), Retha Franklin (Oscar), Joyce Rawlings (Morris), and Marie King, his grandchildren; Latitia Matthew-Thomas, Kenneth Reed, Latashia Hansbrough, Charles Matthews, Sr., Bonita Garnett, Shannah Bonne, and Chadwick Rawling, and eleven great grandchildren.
